Movement

is Our

Native Language

Origin Story

I say that dance is my native tongue because
I don't remember a time when I didn't dance.

This is my favorite childhood picture - my Daddy is holding my 18 moonth old hands and helping me stay upright as I am being swept away in joy by the music flooding my entire BEing.

That smile says it all... I was born a dancer, a mover, an Instinctual Creative whose first form of expression was through my body.

I am an animal who can sense rhythm & space in my bones and blood; and I believe movement is our native language.

When in motion, feeling the music and floating through space propelled by the energy of Great Mystery herself; I am alive.  Centered, focused, not thinking my way through but rather

BEing my way.

And like many of us... I lost this part of myself early on when required to move through some deep traumatic events that I felt

unprepared for.

I lost trust in my instincts and intuition and became very focused instead on finding safety outside of my own skin.

Somewhere along the way, I took in the notion that I had to "grow up" and become an adult with rules and responsibilities; that to be my unique, joyful essence was not an available choice in the real world.

Surviving assault, becoming a single mother, and stumbling my way through an array of unsupportive relationships; my exhausted younger self tried handing my power to others in a desperate attempt to heal my tender animal body.

To escape the weight of self response-ability by following the status quo...

Despite 2 decades of therapy support, it was not until I found my 5Rhythms practice that I found the Map to true systemic healing and a reclamation of my own inner guiDANCE system.

A remembering of my birthright to Instinct & Intuition.

A rediscovering of Creativity as sacred nourishment.

A reset of my nervous system back to the present moment so I am able to respond rather than react.

So while dance is my native language, the 5Rhythms is the Map of how to use that language to sweat, move and pray myself home.

Home to my own Self.

Body, Heart, Mind, Soul & Spirit.

When we honour Instinct and Intuition before Intellect - life changes.

It would be my deepest pleasure to share this beloved global practice with you.

“Put the body in motion & the psyche will heal itself.”
